Lwengo District has a total gazetted forest estate of 21 hectares i.e Lwengo forest reserve in Lwengo Sub County. This constitutes about 0.2 % of the total land area of the District. Forests constitute the Buyaga dam Central Forest Reserves, and are under the management of the Central Government.
Major animals reared are the local type of beef cattle, goats, sheep, pigs and chicken. 80 % of the animals are sold at low costs for income, production levels are still low. Improvement can be done by rearing more crosses and introduction of more exotic breeds for better yield especially for milk production. Table below shows the estimated number produced by type by location.
The production and marketing sector is currently comprised of five sectors namely; crop, veterinary, fisheries, entomology and Trade and Industry. Also under the sector are NAADs program and District Agricultural Training and Information Centre (DATIC); located in Kkingo Sub County at Kamenyamiggo.
